Two weeks after the self-imposed 6 April review deadline, the Abbott/Turnbull Government Backpackers Tax remains a mystery.
Last week Senator Ruston stated that “the review would be submitted to Cabinet shortly and people should expect an announcement in the next few weeks”.
With fourteen days until the budget the tourism and agricultural sectors still have no idea what the final backpackers tax will look like and it appears they may not know until budget night.
The Turnbull Government is good at paying lip service but has shown itself to be lacking in the detail.
The chaos and dysfunctionality of the Turnbull Government sadly will have long term negative consequences for our tourism and agricultural sectors.
