Another week has passed with Minister Joyce refusing to release the cost benefit analysis on his forced relocation of the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) to his own electorate.
This week the Minister made the extraordinary statement that “If you’re going to premise it on the cost-benefit analysis, we wouldn’t do it.”
The Minister then proceeded is tell his local media that “while the cost-benefit analysis showed the APVMA relocation would have a positive economic impact on Armidale, the report was not the sole factor of the decision.”
The Minister is misleading his own electorate by cherry-picking aspects of the report and he should release the tax-payer funded report today.
There is no doubt that the analysis will show that relocation will deny farmers much needed crop protection and animal medicines products.
