ANOTHER WEEK PASSES AND STILL NO APVMA RELOCATION CBA, FRIDAY 28 OCTOBER 2016

Another week has passed and Minister Barnaby Joyce has still not released the tax-payer funded cost-benefit analysis (CBA) on his crazy relocation of the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) to his own electorate.

This week, Minister Barnaby Joyce’s integrity was trashed by the release of the scathing Dr Paul Grimes’ letter. This letter reveals the Minister’s unethical and bullying behaviour shown to the respected former head of the Agriculture Department, Dr Grimes. This is following the doctoring of the Parliamentary Hansard record by Barnaby Joyce.

How can we believe anything Minister Joyce says about the APVMA after he has been caught out regularly misleading the Parliament, bullying public servants to cover this up and the fact he still won't release the APVMA CBA?
In line with his bullying behaviour, he continues to dismiss key stakeholders’ concerns and reasonable arguments against the APVMA move. Instead he arrogantly remains determined this pork barrelling exercise will happen regardless.

Meanwhile, this week, my office has received information the APVMA is continuing to lose highly experienced staff as uncertainty on the future of the APVMA remains.

The pork barrelling exercise by Barnaby Joyce of relocating the APVMA to his own electorate does not show integrity.

Refusing to release the tax payer funded APVMA CBA does not show integrity.

Lying to Parliament and misleading the Australian people does not show integrity.

The Prime Minister must intervene now to stop Minister Joyce’s unacceptable behaviour before more damage is caused to the agriculture sector and before the Australian people lose confidence in our parliamentary democracy.
