Another week has passed with Minister Joyce refusing to release the cost benefit analysis on his forced relocation of the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) to his own electorate.
This week industry groups increased their calls for the Minister to release the report.
CropLife Australia said that the relocation of the APVMA, “can’t come at a net loss for the nation’s farming sector”.
National Farmers’ Federation chief executive Tony Mahar said the decision to relocate should be merit and evidence-based.
The Minister refuses to heed the warnings of the detrimental effect moving the APVMA will have on the agricultural sectors and therefore needs to be held to account by the Prime Minister, who has championed all week the importance of transparency and proper process regarding policy positions.
Now is the time for the Prime Minister to show leadership in demanding his Deputy release the tax-payer funded cost benefit analysis.
The concepts of transparency and proper process cannot be cherry picked when it is convenient for the Government.
