Barnaby Joyce's drought package has failed and now he wants to blame the banks. He needs to apply the same standards to himself as he does them.
The banks need to do their bit, but so does the Abbott Government.
The Government's drought policy has been a failure. Barnaby Joyce has money in his drought package which could be helping farmers but he is too incompetent to spend it.
He has blamed the banks, the states, the white paper process and the distractions of the Free Trade Agreement, next he will be blaming the weather.
Barnaby Joyce needs to sit down with all stakeholders and nut out both a 1-in-100 year emergency response and long-term drought policy.
Barnaby Joyce abolished the COAG committee which dealt with drought policy and he should immediately re-instate it.
It's past time the Abbott Government took responsibility for its own failings.
