In the Parliament today Labor pursued the Government over its Centrelink funding cuts and the appalling impact it is having on pensioners, carers, people assisting their elderly parents, disability pensioners, students and the unemployed.
These cuts are leaving the elderly, the sick and their families distressed.
People are spending hours on the phone without result. Those presenting at Centrelink offices are being told staff don’t have the resources to help them.
These are often elderly people who have made a significant contribution to our country over the course of their working lives. I’ve had people in tears as they share their bad experiences.
The old, the young, the sick and people just trying to help their mum or dad are being left with a bitter taste in their mouths.
It’s typical of this Liberal-National Party Coalition. They think all Centrelink clients are bludgers.
