FITZGIBBON NOMINATES FOR HUNTER

Today I announce that when preselections open, I will be nominating to be Labor’s candidate in the new electorate of Hunter.

I have been a resident of the Hunter electorate all of my life and I remain a resident of the new Hunter.

For the past twenty years (March 2, 1996) I’ve actively, energetically and passionately represented the interests of Hunter residents. I’m as enthusiastic about the Hunter’s opportunities and challenges today as I was two decades ago and I’m hopeful for the chance to continue the work I love so much.

Whatever the preselection outcome, I will no longer have the great privilege of representing the people of Maitland, Kurri Kurri, Weston, Abermain, Neath, the Upper Hunter Shire, Kandos, Rylstone, and so many communities in between.   This is a source of great regret for me and I thank them for their support over many years.

Subject to Party support, I look forward to meeting and building relationships with, the people of Edgeworth, Cameron Park, West Wallsend, Killingworth, Barnsley, Toronto, Morisset, and all the townships on the western side of Lake Macquarie.

With the support of the Party and local residents, I hope to continue my best efforts to make Hunter the very best it can be and a place where every resident has the greatest opportunity to pursue their hopes and aspirations for themselves and their family.
