JOYCE PLEADS SERGEANT SCHULTZ DEFENCE ON PRAWNS

It is inconceivable that Barnaby Joyce’s Department failed to inform him of the White Spot breakout for six months.

The Agriculture Minister is always quick to claim credit when things go right but when things go wrong he goes missing in action.  The Sergeant Schultz defence of “I know nothing” is no defence at all, the buck stops with him.

Prawn farmers insist that if they’d known about the outbreak earlier, they could have taken defensive action.

The Inspector General for Biosecurity – a position Barnaby Joyce tried to abolish – must investigate the obvious failings in the Commonwealth’s response to a problem which has already been a multi-million disaster for our prawn farmers.
