Media Release - Has Demand for Rural Assistance Really Fallen? - Wednesday, 18 September 2019

In the Parliament today, I asked the Minister for Water Resources why funding for rural assistance had been falling year on year.

Minister Littleproud’s answer was: “It’s demand driven.”

Farmers and rural communities in the grip of what is possibly the worst drought in our history will be shaking their heads at how demand for assistance could have fallen.

No wonder they are asking, “Scott Morrison, where are you?”
