Nationals MPs and Senators made it quite clear in the lead up to - and after - the Liberals’ leadership spill that they believed the election of Malcolm Turnbull to be a bad result for rural and regional Australia.
Now they say it is all OK because they have a ‘new agreement’ which extracts certain concessions for the bush.
These claims have been vague and remain unsubstantiated.
The Nationals must release the agreement or leave people living and working in rural and regional Australia to assume that the bloke from Point Piper has played the Nationals off a break.
