GRANT EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR ROUND 2 ARE NOW CLOSED

What could your community group do with up to $20,000 ?

In the 2015 Budget, the Australian Government announced the Stronger Communities Programme to fund small capital projects in local communities in each of the 150 Federal Electorates.

Members of Parliament are required establish a consultation committee to identify priority projects in the electorate.

The Hunter electorate will have $150,000 a year over two years to fund projects worth between $5,000 and $20,000. Local governments and incorporated not-for-profit organisations will be eligible to apply.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate matched funding for the project, in cash or in-kind. The co-funding grants will be available for capital expenditure on projects that deliver social benefits and improve community participation and cohesion.

How do I apply ?

Expression of interest forms can be filled out online or can be posted or emailed to you by calling 4991 1022. Expression of interests will closed at 5pm on Monday 22nd February 2016.

What next ?

Following the submission of your expression of interest application the Hunter electorate community consultation committee will identify priority projects and invite selected applicants to complete an online application form that will be lodged with the Department for final assessment.
