Malcolm Turnbull’s Cost-Benefit Analysis into the National Broadband Network will strike fear into the hearts of families and businesses across rural and regional Australia.

Mr Turnbull’s review – written by former advisers and former staff of Mr Turnbull – concludes the best result is for broadband to not be rolled out to the bush at all.

Country people will be terrified of this report because it says that that the government shouldn’t invest in rolling out the NBN to the bush.

This report calls for a return to the bad old days of the Howard Government which had 18 failed broadband policies and did nothing for the bush.

Under Labor’s NBN the wholesale price for broadband is the same whether you live in the city or the bush.

This is the same anti-bush government which sold out the bush when it sold off Telstra.

The NBN is the most important infrastructure project for Australia’s future and it needs to be rolled out on an equitable basis now in the bush as well as the cities.
