Turnbull Government fails to provide the Senate with a copy of the APVMA Digital Strategy

Yesterday Labor moved a motion in the Senate for the Turnbull Government to provide a copy of the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority’s (APVMA) Digital Strategy by 5pm on 28 March 2018.

The Digital Strategy is critical to the APVMA being able to maintain at least a basic level of capability due to the forced relocation by the Turnbull Government from Canberra to Armidale.

We know the Digital Strategy has been finalised and that the Turnbull Government is sitting on the report and how much more the APVMA relocation pork barrel will cost, taxpayers, the industry and the agriculture sector.

The motion was supported by the Senate yet was ignored by the Turnbull Government and the document was not produced.

Reports today that the APVMA is at crisis point due to the continued exodus of highly qualified staff will alarm all those who rely on the critical work undertaken by the APVMA.

Malcolm Turnbull must stand up and show true leadership by releasing the APVMA Digital Strategy today in full.
