It was all smiles at Branxton Preschool on Tuesday when Federal Member for Hunter Joel Fitzgibbon visited to congratulate the community organisation on receiving a $5,000 grant under the latest Volunteer Grants Program.
Branxton Preschool is a community not-for profit organisation supported by its management committee which is made up of a group of motivated parents who assist with running events with the sole aim to fundraise for the preschool and give back to the preschool community.
The investment will go towards the purchase of new marquees which will be used at community events, celebration days, market stalls, fundraising functions and will provide shelter for outdoor events.
The Branxton community is tight knit and generous and that is reflected in the time and energy Branxton Preschools volunteers dedicate to making the community organisation a richer place, Federal Member for Hunter Joel Fitzgibbon said.
I hope this investment helps in a practical sense to support the incredible work of the preschools staff and volunteers.
Community preschool facilities like Branxton Preschool provide inclusive and nurturing environments for learning which is so important for the early development of children.
Branxton Preschool is one of 41 volunteer organisations in the Hunter electorate to share in $145,395 under the Volunteer Grants program.
The Volunteer Grants Program aims to support the efforts of Australias volunteers. The grants provide small amounts of money that organisations and community groups can use to help their volunteers.
