More than a year since the election, not one cent ofLeadership in Agricultural Industries fundinghas been spent.
Barnaby Joyce spruiked the $5 million one off grant opportunity back in March this year stating:
This initiative forms an important part of our policy for a Stronger Agriculture Sector, announced at last years federal election to support Australias farmers who contribute around $58billion to our nations economy.
This once-off funding opportunity should enable peak agricultural representative organisations to develop the training and capacity to boost their elected representatives leadership skills long into the future.
The application process opened 5 April and closed 17 May 2017.
Six months on, no successful applicants have been announced.
