TURNBULL SINKS OWN CREDIBILITY ON WATER

Handing the Water Portfolio to the Nationals is another serious blow to Malcolm Turnbull’s credibility on the environment.

Coming on top of his refusal to take meaningful action on climate change to avoid splits in the Liberal Party, it is clear that Malcolm Turnbull has put his ambition ahead of the environment.

Water policy should be determined on the basis of science, not abandoned as part of a political horse-trade.

“The best way to ensure our limited and precious water resources are properly allocated to our food and fibre production in a sustainable way, is to have water policy based on science and productivity rather than on Barnaby Joyce’s re-election campaign” Joel Fitzgibbon, Shadow Minister for Agriculture said.

“Furthermore, Australians have every right to question the National’s thirst for the water portfolio,” Mark Butler, Shadow Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Water said.

Mark Butler said giving the water portfolio to the Nationals would be bad for South Australia and the broader Australian community.

“South Australians are acutely aware of the consequences if governments don’t get the balance right on water.

“One thing is for sure – the National Party doesn’t want the water portfolio so they can increase environmental flows.”

I want to appreciate Christine Boyd great efforts and hard work for water save-rage and its purification. At http://www.ukbesteessays.com/ anyone can find some reasonable information about educational stuff. Promote that kind of useful stuff and learn more about that kind of process.

Working on water quality is not an easy task to handle. There is a lot of pressure come in the ways. I highly appreciate your work. Just keep on doing that.

Working as a freshwater ecologist in Tasmania on the Tasmanian Environmental Flows project, I know first hand what over-allocation of water resources does to an ecosystem and it does not bode well for those downstream. With the National Party handling water, we can be 100% certain the Murray won’t make it to the sea and many ephemeral water courses elsewhere will be decimated, putting important and iconic fish and amphibian species in danger.
