ABBOTT GOVERNMENT FAILS SOUTH AUSTRALIAN DROUGHT AFFECTED FARMERS

The Abbott Government's drought response has been a failure and nowhere is that more true than in South Australia where not one farmer has been able to access its drought specific concessional loans.

Rather than admitting to the failure, the Abbott Government sent out Tony Pasin, Member for Baker, to try to deflect the failure onto the South Australian Labor Government.

Tony Pasin must know the States deliver the loans on terms agreed with the Commonwealth. He should  have directed his criticism to Barnaby Joyce who designed the scheme. The Member for Barker's comments rubbed salt in to the wound of farmers still angry money drought funds were taken from SA to fund loans in NSW and Queensland.

To quote Gina Rinehart’s son, Barnaby Joyce “sits three chairs down from the Prime Minister” and he is the person who has the power but not the competence to provide real drought assistance to struggling farmers.

Yet all we see by from those in the Government, like the Member for Barker,  is politics and denial.
