This week Barnaby Joyce said that “release of the Agricultural Competitiveness White Paper was imminent”.
The Concise Oxford dictionary describes imminent as “impending, soon to happen”.
My fear is that this is another flippant remark by Barnaby and that we will continue to experience nothing but policy inertia in the agricultural sector.
If need be I’m happy to provide Barnaby with a definition of “policy inertia” so that he understands the importance of being honest with the agricultural sector.
Can farmers trust you this time Barnaby?
