Shadow Minister for Agriculture and Rural Affairs Joel Fitzgibbon will visit Tasmania on Thursday and Friday this week.
Mr Fitzgibbon will meet with a range of stakeholders in the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors.
On Friday Mr Fitzgibbon will join Member for Franklin Julie Collins, Opposition Leader Bryan Green and other members of Labor's Tasmania Task Force for a Round Table with key local government, industry and community leaders.
"Bill Shorten has asked me to work with the Taskforce and key stakeholders toward the development of employment-creating policy within my areas of portfolio responsibility," Mr Fitzgibbon said.
"Both the dining boom and the emerging fibre boom present significant opportunities for the Tasmanian economy but we must have an integrated plan for ensuring we grab those opportunities."
