I am very pleased that the Hunter electorate has been able to secure from the Federal Government aged care places for five aged care facilities under the 2014 Aged Care Approvals Round (ACAR).
The ACAR is the annual process that allocates new Government funded aged care places (both residential care places and home care places) and capital grants.
Rutherford Aged Care will receive 18 Residential Care places, Integrated living will receive 31 Home Care packages, Northern Coalfields Community Care will receive 31 Home Care packages, Living Care Community Services Maitland will receive 22 Home Care Packages and The Maitland Benevolent Society will receive 36 Residential Care place.
Taking care of people as they age must be a top priority. We desperately need them and more.
