Member for Hunter, Joel Fitzgibbon has called on the Federal and State governments to consider introducing a “Cattle Underpass Scheme” similar to the scheme the Victorian government ran in 2012.
“This scheme is relatively inexpensive yet will provide big outcomes, particularly for farmers, who by necessity herd hundreds of cattle across busy roads every day”, Mr Fitzgibbon said.
A Cattle Underpass Scheme will not only assist farmers in Hunter but across NSW and is well worth the consideration of the NSW State and Federal governments.
