We now know why the Nationals have refused to release their agreement with the Liberals.
Speaking to David Speers on Sky today, Nationals Leader Warren Truss admitted the agreement contains no new spending commitments.
In the lead-up to the leadership change and after, Barnaby Joyce and the Nationals made it clear they believed the election of Malcolm Turnbull was a bad thing for rural and regional Australia.
They then went quiet, claiming they had extracted additional bush spending commitments in their “new coalition agreement”.
Today Warren Truss confirmed that was just Nationals spin.
Malcolm Turnbull has wrong-footed the Nationals and the Nationals again tried to mislead those living in rural and regional Australia.
